I wonder how much influence the elements have on people’s emotions and how deep it goes. If long winters make you tense and moderate sunny weather makes a whole population merrier? On days like today I want to move to Italy.

Winter whispers~ When Magic wears a white dress…

Some days it’s good to let the image speak for you…
Day 72 of 365~
Image taken on a very cold day in Seoul, Korea.
It may be harsh, it is often brutal, it’s undeniably chilling but oh it can be so beautiful in its intricate unique and delicate form.
Day 37 of 365
Image is a composite of cold frost and warm human~
To make up for its bone chilling cold, winter sends its apologies with the magical white blanket of snow that makes it all better. I don’t know many who can resist the charm of freshly fallen snow and today I was one of those who ran out in the early morning to be with the symphony of falling snow flakes.
Day 35 of 365

day 2 of 365
Land has this mysterious way of pulling at your soul, of beckoning you home, and for our young daughter, this land is Germany.
The longer we expatriate in China, the mightier that tug. She dreams of the family, the colors, the fresh air, the sounds and smells of a land she feels a strong belonging to despite the fact that she only lived there the first 2 years of her life. But our planet is strange that way, isn’t it?
Her dream will come true, at least for a few weeks starting tomorrow as we head west and our lungs rejoice!
Winter, crisp, charged, moist, earthy, fresh, enlivening, positive…
The color of well-being.
Every year at about the same time in November a new wind blows in Shanghai bringing with it the promise of a heartless winter to come. But there is so much to love about the way the fall forces itself on summer, not offering any apologies, simply making a bold statement, stripping the trees of their leaves, forcing us all to alertness and away from the laziness of summer warmth.
