All images taken during a meetup of photographers I organized last Saturday in Kunst im Tunnel museum in Düsseldorf.
I think the beat way to feel the souls of a place is to meet it at a magical moment, a time when something as common as night surrendering to day never fails to amaze us. Every time that I witness a sunrise, it seems as if I gained a chunk of time, a bonus bit of living that would otherwise have been lost to me.
Vibrant, colorful, artful, tolerant, cosmopolitan, reasonable, creative, culinary, interesting… some words that pop in my mind when I reflect on Berlin. Few days were just a teaser for me and they just tug at me to visit again and again. What a city!
Before the city awakens, when the light slowly paints the dark blue horizon, that’s when magic happens. To think of how many mornings we end up not witnessing this wonder makes me wish to miss more sleep.
What is your favorite time to practice street photography?
Photos taken early this morning on the banks of the river Rhein in Duesseldorf.
Nuclear spring~ I love how spring just explodes into being against all odds right when we start believing the cold is here to stay!
Day 97 of 365~
Anticipation of May flowers…
The magic of new life ready to appear, our planet never ceases to amaze, Year after year, just in case we get jaded, familiar and we forget.
Day 90 of 365~
It’s the human way to sympathize with our fellow residents of human earth. It’s a shared space and we could use to be more respecting of our beautiful planet and it’s inhabitants. Thinking of where we are and where we are heading today. Investigative thoughts on an otherwise calm day in Germany.
Day 89 of 365~
How good it feels to escape for a day or two. To be with nature and away from the normal. Breaking habitual living makes all fresh again.
Wishing you all a peaceful end of the week!
Day 88 of 365~
During this weekend in Germany and other north European countries, bonfires are lit in celebration of the easter weekend. I have been asking locals about the origins of this tradition as well as Mr Google and it seems to be a pre-Christian ritual that welcomes the spring by burning away the lurking darker spirits of winter. It is amazing how much of what we believe in and do has lost it’s original significance and is relegated to a “feel good” thing to do. Imagine how life would be if all our beliefs and traditions were alive!
Day 87 of 365~
Images taken today at the edge of a nearby forest somewhere in Germany.
Doesn’t sometimes seem absolutely mind boggling that we actually walk, talk, eat and sleep on a huge ball? And it’s spinning so fast around its axis! And it’s whirling at a stunning speed around the sun! And is part of a galaxy that’s wizzing inside space to god knows where! How can anyone be ever bored knowing this??
