Realms of the partially visible

Realms of the partially visible
In the alleys of the old city~ Shanghai

So much of what we base our lives on and let influence almost every step of our daily goings on lies in realms we cannot touch, see, feel or even comprehend. We eat because of ‘hunger’, we sleep due to ‘exhaustion’, we give because of ‘care’, we sacrifice because of ‘love’, we run because of ‘fear’, we procreate because of ‘passion’, we create because of ‘art’, …

All of these qualities, essences, emotions, we are not able to fully comprehend let alone define. I read somewhere (I think it was in the book ‘a brief history of everything’ ) that it is creativity that causes cosmos and not chance. If we were to be really creative as we were meant to be and to be instrumental in bringing new realms from the universe to where we are for human race enhancement, then shouldn’t we be using our utmost creativity, mind, soul and honed skills to do that rather than just being and hoping it will happen by itself, by chance?

Weren’t we gifted with our faculties in the hope that we would use a bit more than 10% of this incredible human machinery?

For the love and search of Art…

Collecting essences

collecting essences
collecting essences

There were times when most people were born, raised, lived out their whole lives in a single place. The stories of lands far away were but fantasies and fairy tales. Not today. Our children travel and experience so much in their young days than was possible in a whole lifetime even a 100 years ago. They collect the essences that live in different lands, they take them into themselves and blend them with their own consciousness, making them future world citizens and connecting them into a web of connection that envelopes the planet making it friendlier and more integrated. I do pray that this is what will make this world a better place once they carry the torch of humanity into the future.

Day 30~ June 30th~ Xinjiang

farewell from Xinjiang

Being a lover of travel, you learn to get yourself used to enduring the pain of separation. When you travel to a new place it is not just the people, the buildings, the nature and the food that you meet, but also the essences that live in that place and those are the things you end up missing the most. The very subtle things that you don’t see with your eyes, but only feel, can be with as they come together to make up the version of that part of the earth and imprint it in your mind.

As all journeys must end, so does this month’s adventure into the beautiful world that is Xinjiang. It was a very enjoyable but a difficult month for me in terms of finding the 30 images to show you from the 4000 in my files. There is so much more that remains unseen and so many stories that remain untold.

But on to the next…
