The author reflects on a lifelong yearning for spiritual retreat, rooted in childhood dreams of simplicity and detachment. Experiences of war in Lebanon intensified this desire. After exploring various distractions in youth and searching for clarity in New York and India, they learned that diverse paths exist, each holding sacred value.
