It’s all about the light~

Like our eyes and how we process light and dark, the camera is addicted to light, and it’s absence.

Of men and birds~

This man sat quietly smoking on the edge on the bustling Champs-Élysées as people walked all around and birds flew by. He was still there on my way back an hour later.

Theater of life~

Life in the street is a theater happening all the time, constantly changing and metamorphosing that I feel compelled to be out there capturing as many moments as I can. Every image I capture makes me think that had a slept longer it would never have been captured. I imagine this must be every street photographer’s dilemma.

Day 94 of 365~

Early morning in Paris.

Showing too little to show too much~

There is a joy that I find in keeping a large part of the image to the viewer’s imagination in photography. The story half told leaves room for dreams and subjective visions.

Choosing Wisely~ The Internal Struggle

the internal struggle
~the internal struggle

My daughter asked me after hearing of the sad events caused by terrorism in Beirut and Paris the last 2 days: “why do humans terrorize other humans?” Questions like this always get us into a journey of search for the truth, for reason, for sanity and for an explanation that can offer settlement, even if it was short-lived.

We are given a choice, the moment we were born to be as good or as bad as we want to be. We battle with our own morality throughout our lives here on this planet. We seek out desperately that bit of cool blue logic to give us strength to choose wisely.

I posted several ‘pray for Paris’ tributes on social media today and I was caught by one comment from someone saying that “if prayer helped, then the world would already be a better place”. But do we just give up hope in the face of an uncertain future? What kind of world are our children inheriting?

When magic meets us

magic likes to meet us when we walk alone
magic likes to meet us when we walk alone~ River Seine~ Paris

Does it ever happen to you that something so special joins you when you are alone; a spark of revelation; a moment of clarity; something that makes you want to jump up and down in glee, and you might even do just that? I find that when that happens, it mostly does when I walk alone. Maybe when we walk alone we invite into us what wants to give us clarity, and maybe at other times, we are too busy and crowded to hear it. As long as I can be with inspiration, boredom will never meet me, they seem to live in different essence realms.

Moving into a new world

behind all the fog
behind all the fog~ paris

I dream of a world were we can walk together looking forward with a sense of mission and not at each other with suspicion

I dream of a time when we see with a clear vision and not be hindered by wars, disputes and division

I dream of seeing the day when the fog finally disperses and humans can champion the onset of future forces

Collecting essences

collecting essences
collecting essences

There were times when most people were born, raised, lived out their whole lives in a single place. The stories of lands far away were but fantasies and fairy tales. Not today. Our children travel and experience so much in their young days than was possible in a whole lifetime even a 100 years ago. They collect the essences that live in different lands, they take them into themselves and blend them with their own consciousness, making them future world citizens and connecting them into a web of connection that envelopes the planet making it friendlier and more integrated. I do pray that this is what will make this world a better place once they carry the torch of humanity into the future.
