Do you dream in color or monochrome? I have had this wish to recreate dreams in visual designs and until I started to learn motion design, this was not even a remote possibility. I am loving this journey of expanding my skillset to include live footage, animation, photography and sound design. I believe that we should never stop learning new skills and sharing them.
What new skills are you learning?
Sometimes when all seems to be overwhelming, the speed of life, the long ‘to do’ lists, the strong feeling of not being able to catch up or not having enough time to do what we want to do, it is good to take a moment. By taking a moment, I mean really take it, stop!
I tried that this morning, where I just stopped and made a deal with my brain that we will get to think in a few minutes, but for now let’s just stop.
An amazing thing happened… I could feel so much more, hear more, see more, and a sense of gratitude overcame me. We already have too much by the simple fact of being able to realise it. Most of the time, we are our own slave drivers and if we could just let go for a moment and be kind to ourselves, we finally see that no matter how we paint the picture to ourselves about our lives, we do stand in our own patch of diamonds.
This year we have all lived to some extent the opening words of ‘Tale of two cities’, haven’t we?
Upheaval, breakdown of old systems, pandemic, loss, economic collapse, social and physical isolation, poverty, fear, uncertainty, extreme weather, unstable leadership and so much more…
Yet, somehow, something extremely bright filters through our planet at this time, this planet of duality. At the darkest of times the brightest of times have a chance to manifest. Hope is always here for a better world and an incandescent tomorrow. All we have to do is believe and look at history to prepare for our future in our present.
