It is in mystery dreams that art can be found, in daydreams lives only illusion.
The one theme throughout Lea’s letter to Santa this year centered around magic. She asked to become a “Hexe” (German for witch), to have a “Hexenbuch”, “Hexenkraft”, “Hexenbesen”, fairy dust, the ability to fly, … you get the idea. From all of this list, she received a book and some crystals from her cousins and since then she holds this book and carries it around everywhere writing spells and practicing while innocently hoping and praying that her wishes will come true. She asked for my help (thinking I must be some kind of witch π ) and after long thought, I explained to her that nature is her best bet. If she can understand the laws of nature and how they work, then maybe she can come closer to understanding what she is asking for. So the book is getting filled with examples of the first natural law, the law of 2, of apparent opposites. She has collected already 3 pages full of examples with complete determination and zeal.
I love and value so much the gift of being a parent and witnessing magic through the passion of children.
Do you remember being seven years old? Remember when your imagination was endless and when your hopes and dreams were still undefeated by cynicism? Do you recall being so free and believing that life is a canvas where you can draw yourself to be absolutely anything you want to be?
Every little girl’s dream, the moment she becomes princess and joins her prince, the most romantic moment to look forward to, the happy ending to most fairy tales…
It is just moving to see this tradition still alive in our world of today, to witness a moving ceremony of pledged loyalty, mutual respect and of a declared wish to live together in partnership like the trees in the forest in common purpose.

To be winged, to be light, to not be weighed down, to be free, to travel with your mind, to fly in your dreams, to allow yourself to soar, to be what you were meant to be, to play your part in the creation plan… to really live!

She woke up early on the day of her 7th birthday and ran to my bed declaring “I have dreamt that IΒ was being swallowed by a giant clock!”
And isn’t time like that? Isn’t it a ruthless giant clock that ticks and keeps on ticking whether we like it or not, whether we are ready or not?
I love celebrating Lea’s Birthday with her. We plan the party weeks in advance and enjoy the preparation almost as much as the event itself. She is so full of life and excitement, how can I not respond likewise and not celebrate full force?
Happy Birthday Little Lea!
Today I went to the children’s market in Shanghai’s Pu’an lu and there I found among many interesting subjects these colorful chopsticks with the goofy smily faces π
They made me think of the world and its people of so many colors, shapes, religions, traditions, ethnicities and to dream…
Yes, I dream of a world where all people of all colors are joined in a single purpose and not wasting their precious gifts of brain, acumen, intelligence, possibilities in games of war, power struggle, ego feeding and the departure from true human purpose.
I dream…
