Do you remember?
There was no sadness then.
The world was wide, endless, filled with only now.
Did you trust?
Yes, I trusted the presence.

I felt it in the wind, moving through the trees.
It whispered through the branches,
sang hymns in my head at bedtime.
It warmed my skin in the golden light.
It was always there.

I was a child who craved loneliness,
but I was never truly alone.
My friends were unseen,
ageless, unbroken by time.
They stayed when all else faded.

Every child knows. Then we forget.
But not all is forgotten.
They are faithful, waiting, watching.
Will they hold my hand when I go?
The journey will be a homecoming.
And I know that you know.
I know that you remember.
