My name is Mimo Khair. This website is used for occasional blogging and showcase for my art.

I believe that art is life and life is art. I create whenever I can, however I can and wherever I am.

Life inspires me and humanity motivates me.

My photography style is mainly but not limited to ‘documentary’ and ‘street photography’, focusing often on social issues and the human condition. I also experiment daily with mobile photography and more abstract artful use of the camera.

I currently use a Canon 5D mark 3 with a variety of lenses, a fujix100t and an iphone6.

I am currently living in Shanghai, China since 2006.

I can’t wait to read more and check out your photos which look really beautiful. I’ve only read your latest post, the words and pictures are powerful and deliver your message and what’s inside your mind and thoughts so well. So, nice job, I will stick around.

  4. Hi Mimo – your work is beautiful, each image is so potent with story. I use photographic images as part of my writing process – to capture a particular feeling or tone, to remember, to re-trace or to discover what has been lost/destroyed. Your photographs do all of this and more. Thank you for sharing them.

    1. Many thanks Joylene! I really am honored. I am just not sure how to respond to the nominations. I promise to invest some time in doing that.

  12. Thanks for visiting my blog, your pictures are beyond AMAZING! They’re so inspiring, I hope that you’ll finish this project successfully (:

  13. Hi ~Mimo~ No need for a reply, you have thousands of previous admirers who have dibs on your time. I’m sure it’s been said to you before, but your point of view, the perspective, the angles and cropping of your photos, the layout and ease of use of the blog, all make your site a real joy to visit. I’ve become a water person myself, hence a bit ill at ease on the WWW, but your photography generates vivid flashbacks on places once visited, and admiration when you treat the unknown. I don’t know you from Eve, ~Mimo~, yet through your work, I think I do. πŸ™‚

    1. I thank you for your comment. It gives me such great encouragement. You are lucky to have become a water person, and to be seizing the day. I look forward to seeing and reading your work.

  14. I am not on a 365 project but maybe I ought to be! I love your site and hope that you will enjoy connecting with me too πŸ™‚

  15. Hi Mimo,

Please count me in! :). I don’t have 365 projects, but I am trying to get into the habit of blogging regularly. It’s a kind of discipline I should need to acquire.

Sorry, took me a little while before I was able to come back again. In the past weeks, devoted time to fix and improve my blog. Now it looks like a real blog now :). Thanks to the friends in the blogosphere world. I find it really a great way to connect with people and learn from each other’s culture and traditions. And photographs are a great way to convey emotions!

    Many greetings,

  16. Mimo… THANK you!! You are a true inspiration to the world! I can’t even begin to imagine your dedication and determination … You’ve opened my eyes to new possibilities.. as I am gathering information to start a project of my own.. Thank you, again!! πŸ™‚

  17. Wonderful blog, IΒ΄ve been following you in Flickr, but I havenΒ΄t came across your blog till today, this is a fantastic project, I love your captures and the way you talk about them, so inspiring. I am doing my own 365 project (currently publishing my post number 169) and itΒ΄s an amazing way to stay connected to myself and the world around me.

  18. Bravo Mimo! You are an inspiration to this photographer who has been blocked for some time. Are you travelling for the entire 12 months? Where is your home base?

  19. I like your eye. Not that your eyes are not beautiful, what I meant the things you see and capture, unlike most. I enjoyed ‘seeing’ your captures. Continue good work.

  20. Hi Mimo – I am passing on a blogging award that was handed on to me called the “Hope Unites Globally” Award. Thanks for the amazing insight and incredible photography that you allow others to enjoy through this project. I don’t read many blogs regularly – yours is one I do. You can read more about the nomination here: http://communicatingacrossboundariesblog.com/2012/02/25/versatile-blogging-and-hugs/ and about the award itself here: http://ahopefortoday.com/2012/01/14/hope-unites-globally-hug-award-guidelines/

  21. Hi Mimo, thank you for visiting my blog. I’m thrilled I found yours, the posts are inspiring and the photographs are simply stunning. I’m glad to see you’ve extended this one year project!

  22. Hi, I just recently came across your blog. I am relatively new to photography and going through your pictures, with their simplistic yet poetic beauty, truly inspired me. I have started my 365 (well, 366) day project and I hope I have it in me to keep going and continue learning.

  23. Hi Mimo! Congrats on being Freshly Pressed! wahoo!
December 2010 I started a little project called 365: A Study. Images only taken with a smart phone. This short time ago I wasn’t surfing, blogging and barely keeping my website updated with my projects. A year and a half later I am much more into persay surfing and thanks to my drive to get a better photography website and a techy friend of mine I am now very connected. I’ve been on WP for a few months now and realize this 365 project is everywhere. I’m hummbled and I would like to stay here.
Your 365 project is very interesting and i look forward to more of your posts. You mentions blogroll. I use blogroll to visit my fav site and ones I want to keep up on in my time. Please feel free to add me to your blogroll as I will be adding your site to mine.

  24. Your posts on Lebanon are absolutely beautiful, and they stir memories of love and longing in me. Although I’m originally Lebanese, I never lived there, but my parents took us back for visits, and we grew up with the love of our culture instilled deeply in us, and I know it will always be a huge part of me. Reading your posts and seeing the photos made me so nostalgic, as it’s been several years since I’ve been back. I’m hoping I’ll get a chance to go back soon, and to finally show my husband the beautiful land that is Lebanon. Thanks for sharing such lovely posts; I really look forward to seeing more!

  25. Mimo! I can’t believe you are almost done with your 365 project. Will you continue on with another 365 project when this is over in a couple of weeks? Love your photos, very professional looking. I just nominated your site/blog for the Kreativ Blogger Award in my post this morning. Looking forward to more of your posts!

  26. You’ve captured some nice photos! I enjoyed looking through some of them. This 365 project is very ambitious and it’s awesome that you’re doing it. Thanks for visiting and following my blog!

  27. Hi there, I am doing a project staythesamfilm where I film myself in exactly the same place every day for a year so I guess this is a 365 project! If you are up for linking?

  28. Brilliant idea. “This is a great way to look at the whole year in pictures and words and to form a discipline in photography and in life in general.” You took the words out of my mouth. All the best.

  29. Your 365 picture project is beautiful and very rich with essence! Thank you so much for sharing your daily devotion with us. It causes me to stand still and contemplate the value and specialness of life. And it is great to hear from you! Cisca (Celeste)

  30. Wow!! This is truly inspiring, and makes me want to start my own 365. For now I have a blog that is more about photography and literature, (still finding my way there!) but I love the idea of taking one picture a day and posting!! So wonderful, thank you!

  31. I’ve recently started doing my own 365 project, it’s opening my eyes so much already. I am constantly seeing things in mind as they would be as a photograph (I’m not mad honestly!)

I have great respect for all who choose to board this journey as it’s much harder/challenging than I thought it would be. Your photography is very inspiring.

    1. I totally know what you mean, although I do consider myself a touch mad where photography is concerned lol.
Do you blog your 365 project somewhere so I can follow?

  32. Wow, this is great .. I strongly support your project. Hi Mimo, I will provide comments on each photo and your writing…

  33. That’s so great that you are making this into its own blog Mimo! I’ve just loved doing a 365 – it is so challenging to create every day and really pushes you beyond the limits of what you thought you could do. I’m excited to watch your year unfold…

    1. It really is a very challenging project! I am so enjoying the pressure of it, it is great! Great we can keep in touch through this, and I am amazed at your style and how it has grown to be so unique and wonderful Patty! Do you also have a blog?
