As I began to write my blog tonight, I received the breaking news notification of yet another horrible school shooting in America. How tragic to hold back the future by cruelly eliminating its ambassadors. Whatever the cause, whatever the trigger, how can this be prevented?
How unnatural for a life to go before it’s reached its potential!

I began my teaching career with an interview at a small middle school in Virginia the day after Columbine. I never imagined the tragedy would reach the proportions it has. Between 2013 and 2015 at least 59 people were killed or injured in school or colleges. There have been 18 school shootings so far in 2018 alone. I try not to be scared when I go to work, but with those kind of levels of violence it’s hard to ignore the fear. Too bad we can’t have a war on the terror of guns in this country. Too bad no one in our government has the guts to stand up to the NRA and say ‘enough.’. .
Yes indeed. Enough is enough
